Sapulpa Man Dies in Jail
A 40-year-old Sapulpa man, held since
Sunday in the city jail for vagrancy and investigation, died
Wednesday afternoon-in the county jail about 10 hours after
being transferred there.
Exact cause of death had not been
determined Wednesday night. A waiter, according to, police.
records, Farrell Clinton White, 40, was found dead in a
detention cell at 5:20 pm by W. E. Frazier, jailer.
He was last seen alive at 12:45 pm when
he refused all the noon meal except a cup of coffee.
Newt Burns, chief criminal deputy, said
White's body was found stretched out on the floor of his cell.
Evert Crismore, coroner, ordered the
body held at Street & Draper funeral home for further
investigation.
White remained in jail from Sunday night
to Tuesday afternoon. booked for "investigation" which means he
was not allowed to talk to anyone.
Dr. Chester R. Seba, city physician,
examined White about 5 pm. Tuesday. Jail records disclose that
Dr. Seba diagnosed the man's ailment as epilepsy and ordered his
release at 8 am Wednesday. About 2 am Wednesday, however, apt.
Earl Temple ordered the man transferred to the county jail to be
held for a sanity hearing.
