Sapulpa, Oklahoma
July 28, 2011

Mary Nell Hooser passed peacefully from this earthly world into her heavenly home on July 25, 2011 at the age of 94. She was born on August 30, 1916 in Monett, Mo. to Arthur Lee Beeman and Belle Beeman at the family residence. She was the youngest of three girls.

The family moved to Muskogee, Okla. where Mary started school. Soon after, the family moved to Francis, Okla.

When Mary was 15 she and L.C. "Skinnie" Hooser eloped on September 4, 1931. They were married in Tupelo, Okla. From this beautiful union three children were born.

She was a long time member of the First Baptist church in Francis. She was the pianist for many years, as well as a Sunday school teacher and a worker for Vacation Bible School. She also ran the Hooser’s Cafe. After moving to Sapulpa in 1958 she became a tax preparer at H & R Block where she received many awards for her efficient work. In addition to these many jobs, she was also a very happy homemaker.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and her beloved husband of 41 years, "Skinnie Hooser". She was also preceded by her cherished only son, Charles Hooser.

She is survived by Mary Lois Ward of Sapulpa; Dottie Turner of Sapulpa; and daughter-in-law Betty Jo Hooser of Branson, Mo. Grandchildren are Davis Ward and wife Diane of Tulsa; Colvin Hooser and wife Karen of Branson, Mo.; Jill White and husband Michael of Fort Worth, Texas; and Jeff Chuculate of Tahlequah. Great-grandchildren are Chris, Elliot, Jordan, Abby, Galen, Lauren, Cecily, Chyanne, River and Rhylee.

Her loving, kind and caring spirit will be missed by those who knew Mary and loved her.

Mary and Dottie, her daughters, would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Charles Gebetsburger of Sapulpa and all the staff of Ranch Terrace Nursing Home who made their mother’s care so special. Mary resided at Ranch Terrace for five years.

Donations may be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Mary Hooser.

A celebration of her life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Smith Funeral Home in Sapulpa. The address is 1208 South Main Street. Officiating will be Fred Russell. Interment to follow at South Heights Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
