Wilma Ruth Brooks
passed from this life Sunday night painlessly and peacefully. Born January 6,
1926, to William and Alpha Paine she was a lifelong resident of the
Sapulpa-Tulsa area.
During World War II she married high school boyfriend Richard T. Fricker who was
serving in the U.S. Navy. As a Navy wife she lived in Corpus Christi, Texas,
Pensacola, Fla. ,Honolulu, Hawaii and Millington, TN.
Following the war she lived in the Sapulpa-Tulsa area. She worked for many years
at Bartlett-Collins Glass Company in Sapulpa. She finished her working career
with J.C. Penny’s Co.’s Promenade Mall store.
She enjoyed fishing, traveling, watching golf, NASCAR and rodeo’s. Among her
pastimes were knitting and building scrapbooks. Pets were a constant source of
pleasure. She always had a cat or dog, sometimes both, in her home.
During her son’s school years she was active in Sacred Heart and St. Catherine’s
parishes. But, besides her sons, the accomplishment of which she was most proud
being a friend of Bill’s for over 40 years.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Richard L. and Belinda Fricker,
James W. and Barbara Fricker and Vaughn N. Fricker all of Tulsa-Chouteau;
grandchildren, Austin H. Fricker, Heather Rose Gantt, Richard K. Peterson, Penny
S. Fricker-Notz, Tabitha J. Fricker-Felts; great-grandchildren, Megan Notz,
Lindsey and Christopher Felts, Jerrod and Taylor Peterson and
great-great-grandson Cameron L. Peterson, all of Tulsa. She is remembered with
affection by Judi Fricker and Laura J. Hicks-Drye.
A rosary will be held 7 p.m. Thursday October 18, 2012 at Green Hill Funeral
Home Chapel beginning at 7 p.m. Roman Catholic burial services will be at
Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel 1
p.m. Friday October 18, 2012
The Family has chosen to entrust the care of the service to the directors at
Green Hill Funeral Home.
