Neoma
Chloe Dykes Hutchings was born August 21, 1927 in Pryor,
Oklahoma to R.D. and Nonn Earl (Baker) Dykes. She passed away on
Wednesday, January 11, 2012 in Bristow at the age of 84 years.
On July 4, 1946, Neoma Dykes was united in marriage with the
late Cleo E. Hutchings and to this union four children were
born. Neoma taught for many years at Newby Schools and then went
on to work as a librarian for the Bristow Library. She attended
the Advent Christian Church in Bristow. Neoma enjoyed reading,
collecting butterfly nick-knacks, and listening to her husband
play his guitar.
Neoma
is survived by two sons, Neal Hutchings and Stoney Hutchings
both of Bristow; five sisters, Iva Dale Beret, Birdie Mac
Hutchings, Eva Lake, Wilma Duncan, all of Bristow, and Clyda
Nell Key of Colorado; one brother, Jimmy W. Dykes of Red Oak,
Iowa; two grandchildren, Ben Victor and Stephanie Victor Kuonen;
and two great-grandchildren, Hutch Victor and Collins Chloe
Victor.
She
was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Cleo
Hutchings (1986); one son, Paul Douglas Hutchings (1973); and
one daughter, Chloe Ella Victor (1999). A memorial service will
be held at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of
Hutchins-Maples Funeral Home in Bristow.
