Sapulpa man killed in Creek County wreck

A Sapulpa man died Thursday morning at the scene of a single-vehicle crash in Creek County, officials said.


Dean Johnson, 41, died at the scene about 6 a.m. on Slick Road south of West 181st Street South near Kellyville, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports. Johnson's 2002 Dodge pickup truck was northbound and left the roadway through a ditch and struck a tree, troopers report.  Johnson was pinned for about two hours and 10 minutes before he was extricated by Kellyville Fire Department, according to OHP reports.

Johnson was wearing a seatbelt and his airbag deployed, reports show. The Kellyville Fire Department had to use the 'Jaws of Life' to extricate Dean's body from the wreckage.
