Pebernat, 97, of Sapulpa passed way on Sunday, April 3, 2011 in Sapulpa, Okla.
She was born on December 30, 1913 to Frank and Ollie Mae (Harvey) Cook in
Lincoln County, Oklahoma. She was a nurse/LPN. She was a member of Sunrise
Baptist Church. She attended and completed nursing School in Oklahoma City,
starting a new career at the age of 45 and retiring when she was 85 years old.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jesse (Lloyd) Lewis, William Gower,
and Lyle Pebernut; daughter, Imo Lloyd; grandson, Larry D. Lewis; and parents,
Frank and Ollie Cook; siblings, Marguerite Jones, Wilma Mae Lowery, Claudelle
Cook and Jerry Cook.
She is survived by children, Jesse and Ann Lewis of San Antonio, Texas,
Ellsworth and Dottie Lewis, of Titusville, Fla., Jerry and Linda Lewis of
Sapulpa and Olive and Sam Burke of Sapulpa; five grandchildren, Bill Lewis,
Jessie F. Lewis, Susan Hood, Bennett Lewis and Paul Lewis; 12
step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the Smith
Funeral Chapel, Sapulpa. Officiating will be the Reverend Robert Gaches.
Interment to follow at Bristow Cemetery at 3:30 p.m.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
