Sterlin
A. Stafford was born November 20, 1919 in Bristow, Oklahoma to Rollie
and Anna Lee (Gilwreath) Stafford. He departed this life Thursday,
February 3, 2011 in Bristow at the age of 91 years, 2 months, and 14
days.
He attended a country school near Shamrock. On April 8, 1941, Sterlin
Stafford and Vera Alexander were united in Marriage in Silver City, New
Mexico. To this union three daughters were born, Sharon, Judy and LeAnne.
Sterlin was a rancher and pumper in the oil industry. He very much
enjoyed working on his ranch with the cattle, as well as hunting. He was
known to give people a hard time and loved visiting with people. He will
be very missed by all who knew and loved him.
Sterlin is survived by his three daughters, Sharon K. West of Oklahoma
City, OK, Judy Powell and her husband Lon of Bristow, OK, and LeAnne
Stafford of Bristow, OK; one brother, R.T. Stafford and his wife, Mary,
of Derby, KS; three grandchildren, Marty West and his wife, Debra, of
Oklahoma City, OK, Ryan Powell and his wife, Ashley, of Collinsville,
OK, and Jared Powell of New York City, NY; and four great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by both parents, his wife, two sisters, Lorene
Parker and Naomi Fenton, one brother, A.T. Stafford and one grandson,
Scott West. Services are 1pm, Monday, February 7, 2011 at
Hutchins-Maples Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bryan Shaw
officiating. Interment will follow at
Magnolia Memorial Gardens.
