John Arthur Swinney Jr. was born on Feb. 11th 1950 to John Sr. and Mabel Swinney, passed away Feb. 11th 2012. John a lifelong Tulsan, graduated from Memorial High School in 1968, and went on to serve two tours of duty in Vietnam in the Navy. After his discharge from the service he returned home to work at his family’s business Swinney’s Hardware.

He  married Michelle Morgan, in 1975 and they had two daughters, Sarah and Mandy. John loved life. He was active in his church and loved to put a smile on your face. He loved to sing and play his guitar, and fish Grand Lake. He was a true friend to all, expecting nothing in return.

 John was preceded in death by his father, John Sr.

He survived by his mother Mabel, sister Joan, daughters Sarah and Mandy and grandchildren Gretchen and Nicholas. A Funeral Mass will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Tulsa. T
