MOUNDS — Services for James O. Tackett, 75, Mounds, are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at
Mounds Assembly of God Church, the Rev. Kenneth Creason officiating. Burial
follows at Green Hill Memorial Gardens
in Sapulpa.
Mr. Tackett died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, in Sapulpa. He was born Dec. 3, 1933, in
Hickory, Okla. to John Steve and Flora Bell Blevins Tackett.
He attended school at McLish School in Fittstown. Mr. Tackett and his wife,
Jean, made their home in Mounds for 43 years, and he worked as a welder at Flint
Steel in Tulsa for 24 years before retiring.
In 1959 he married Robbie Jean Shook. They were married almost 51 years.
Survivors include his wife, Jean, of the home; daughter, Alicia and son-in-law,
Robert of Tulsa; a granddaughter, Kyla of Mounds; two grandsons, Joshua and
Michael, both of Tulsa; two great-grandsons, Bradley and Julien, and one
great-granddaughter, Lilly, all of Mounds; three sisters, Cleo Hinton of Sun
City, Calif.; Helen Hooper of Cleveland, Okla.; and Bea Rowley of Tulsa; four
brothers, Carl Tackett of Fittstown,; Eugene Tackett of San Diego, Calif.;
Hollis Tackett of Bixby, Okla.; and Howard Tackett of Chelsea, Okla.
Mr. Tackett was preceded in death by his parents, John Steve and Flora Bell
Tackett, a brother, Jerry Tackett, and a sister, Edna Lee Spradlin.
