Gary Michael Wheeler, age 70, of Sapulpa departed this world Tuesday June 1, 2010 at St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa. He was born in Sapulpa May 21, 1940 to Nathan and Juanita Wheeler. He attended Sapulpa High School, going on to attend college at Oklahoma State University and the University of Tulsa. Gary married his wife Jackie on August 19,1960. They had two children together, Jana Carol Wheeler and John Michael Wheeler. Gary spent the majority of his life working as a typesetter, owning his own business in Tulsa called Typo before computers became so prevalent in households. He loved to dance, watch sports, play with his grandkids, and spend quality time with his extended family.

Gary is survived by his daughter, Jana Lynn and her husband, John, of Rogers, Ark.; son, Mike Wheeler of Sapulpa; grandchildren, Lindsay Phillips and Colten Wheeler; and great-grandson Max Phillips.

His wife of 48 years, Jackie Wheeler and his parents preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be held Monday, June 7, at Smith’s Funeral Home in Sapulpa at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Gary Radtke officiating.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
