Funeral services were held Saturday, July 30,
2005 at the First Free Will Baptist Church, Drumright, for
Virginia Wilson. Pastor Tim Gillespie officiated. Vocalist, Tara
Wilson, provided special music. Casket bearers were Darrell
Davidson, Milton Skaggs, Lonnie McGuire, Ben Fenton, Terry Pope
and Richard Larkin. Interment followed at the
Bristow City
Cemetery.
Wilson was born in Bristow on Aug. 17, 1914,
daughter of the late Milton and Cordelia Smith McGuire. She was
a graduate of Central State Teacher’s College and had taught in the Olive school for a number of
years.
On Nov. 30, 1935,Virginia and Floyd Eugene Wilson were
united in marriage. Floyd preceded her in death as did brothers
Stanley, Claude and Elvis McGuire and sisters, Gladys Skaggs,
Iva Fenton and Emma Davidson.
Wilson
died July 28, 2005 at the age of
90 years.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law,
Ted and Deborah Wilson, her daughter and son Beverly and Gerald
Barry, Tulsa; grandchildren, Lisa Milner, Austin, Texas, Sheila
Farthing, Potomac Falls, Virginia, Tommy Wilson, Shawnee,
Angelee Wilson, Ada, and Dinah Wilson, Patomac Falls, Va.; and
seven great grandchildren.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Don
Smith Funeral Home.
