Ruth Jones Yeager, 99, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2011. She was born on October 6,1911, in Willow Springs, Texas, to John B. and Annie Morgan Jones. She married J.B. Yeager on August, 7,1932, and they lived in Dallas, Texas, until moving to Okmulgee in 1938. They then moved to Sapulpa in 1953, where she worked at Morton's Department Store for many years before moving to Ardmore. After living in Ardmore for several years they returned to Okmulgee where she worked for Ramseys Department Store and D'nita until its closing.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1973, her parents, two-brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by two sons: Richard and wife Mary of Okmulgee; Jim and wife Susan of Sapulpa and one daughter, Linda and husband Gary of Mannford; eight grandchildren: Janet Dixon, Okmulgee; Debbie Cheney, Grapevine, Texas; John Yeager, Okmulgee; Chris Yeager, Gravette, Ak; Sharon Smeltzer, Edmond; Tom Smeltzer, Cheyenne, Ok; Spencer Yeager, Sapulpa, and Tyler Yeager, Sapulpa: 17 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at Smith Funeral Chapel, Sapulpa at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Smith Funeral Chapel, Sapulpa, OK . Officiating the service will be the minister, Ben Williams and elder, Glen Zumalt. Bearers will be Spencer Yeager, Tyler Yeager, John Yeager, Chris Yeager, Tom Smeltzer and Daniel Cruts. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Sapulpa, OK.
