Gary Lee Yocham, 67, went to be with our
Lord Friday, January 13, 2012. Gary was born August 18, 1944, to
Troy and Dorthea Yocham, both deceased. Gary made a simple home
in Kellyville with his wife Connie; they would have been married
48 years this September. Gary was a war-time veteran and served
in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1967 and was stationed in Ft.
Rucker, Ala. Gary was self-employed as a construction contractor
for the past 35 years and worked with many of the Tulsa-area
businesses. He had many friends and employees over the years and
had fond memories of the jobs he worked on with his employees.
He was always telling stories that happened on the job sites, as
someone was always pulling tricks on another worker. He was
known for his sense of humor, and could always put a smile on
your face.
Since Gary’s retirement in 2006, he
loved working on his farm where he made a huge garden every year
to share with family and neighbors.
Gary and Connie had two sons, of whom he
was very proud, Gary Lee and his wife Adrienne and their
children, Abby and Tracy Yocham and his wife Shea, and their son
Ryker, all of Kellyville; Jamie Yocham and his wife Angie and
their children, Nickolas and MacKenzie Yocham of Hamilton, Ohio
and Zackery, Tyler and Peyton Foshee of Tulsa. He is also
survived by brothers, Shelby, Lester and Marvin Yocham of
Kellyville; sisters, Vera Davis of Nashville, Tenn., and Shirley
Harris of Huntington, Texas. There are numerous nieces, nephews,
cousins and in-laws who will miss him, also.
As Gary wished, there will be no public
services, but his family would like to say “thank you” for all
the kindness and prayers shown to them during this time. Also,
“thank you” to all who brought food. You are such a blessing to
us.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests
you make a special donation to your church this Sunday. |
