Johnnie
Lee Adkins, of Sapulpa, died Sunday at the age of 68. Mr. Adkins
was born Jan. 8, 1936 in Kansas City to John Wesley Adkins and
Viola Mae Woodcock Adkins.
He had lived in Sapulpa for the past 21 years. He was married
to Fay on July 5, 1963 in Kansas City, Kan. He was a retired
custodian. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Baptist. He
loved to go fishing and talk on his CB radio.
Survivors are his wife, Fay, of the home; children Carolyn
and Wayne Fry, of Kansas City, Kan., Chrystal and Lynn
Boatright, of Tulsa, and John Lee Adkins Jr.; grandchildren
Wesley Aleen Fitzpatrick, Ryan Vincent Boatright, Braden Lee
Boatright and Jessica Christine Boatright; great-grandson Daniel
Joseph Fitzpatrick; brothers Donald Adkins, of Shawnee Mission,
Kan., Joseph Adkins, of Kansas City, Kan., Allen Adkins, of
Locksley, Ala. and sister Norma Jean Bennett of Clinton,
Missouri.
Funeral services for Mr. Adkins have been set for 10 am
Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004 in the Smith Funeral Chapel with the
Rev. Glen Hood officiating. Interment will follow in
Kellyville Cemetery.
Serving as casket bearers will be Jim Harris, Bart Harris,
Stephen Harris, Paul Harris, Allen Sullins and Kevin Adkin.
Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
