Scalding Death Suspect Sought

SAPULPA - Authorities were searching Wednesday for a California man accused of scalding a 3 1/2-year-old Sapulpa boy to death on New Year's Day 1976.

The remains of Dolan Curtis Anderson Jr. were found in a wooded area northeast of Sapulpa over the weekend.

A first-degree murder warrant for Kenneth York Collins, 36, believed to be living in California, was sworn out Tuesday after investigators took statements from the boy's mother, a spokesman
for the Creek County district attorney's office said.
District Attorney David Young said the the mother, Rebecca Laughlin, and Collins were living together at a home in rural Sapulpa at the time of the boy's death.

Young said investigators believe the boy was fatally scalded with hot water on Dec. 31, 1975, and died of the burns about seven hours later, on Jan, 1.

The district attorney said Mrs. Laughlin would be the state's key witness in the case.
