Mrs. T. R. Braught, wife of
former deputy sheriff who is now in jail at Sapulpa charged with
murdering Ote Robins at Oilton on the morning of July 1, was
shot and killed here tonight by a man said to be Buck Davis, an
oil driller. He made his escape into the hills north of here and
is pursed by a posse of armed men.
Mrs. Braught was proprietor of a local hotel.
Davis was a former sweetheart.
Jealousy is said to have been he cause of the shooting. He is
said to have entered a room where the woman was talking to one
of her roomers and, without warning, to have pulled a pistol and
fired point-blank at the woman, three times. The first bullet
pierced her heart and she fell to the floor dead. Two other
shots were fired into her body.
