Clay Kelly Went to be With the Lord On March 21, 2003.
After a long and Courageous battle With Cancer, he passed away
at his home in Oklahoma City With his loving Wife Marilyn by his
side.
Mr. Kelly Was born On April 15, 1931, to Henry and Stella Kelly,
in Kellyville, OK, and later moved With his family to Sapulpa,
OK, Where he graduated from Sapulpa High School. He married his
beloved Wife Marilyn Stansbury on August 18, 1966. Their love
for One another is immeasurable and has been an inspiration. She
Cared for "her Kelly" throughout his long illness and Will miss
him forever. He Was a devoted husband and father, and had always
been "more than he had to be" to his daughter, Conni,
His lifetime Career was in the retail grocery business, where he
managed Supermarkets for 50 years. He enjoyed his work and
spending time with his family, and was happiest when sitting by
the fireplace with his Wife beside him, his beloved dog in his
lap, working a Crossword puzzle Or Crypto Quote in pen. He also
loved watching football, especially the OU Sooners. He had
always been known for his Sense of humor and ability to make
people laugh and feel at ease. He was a joy to those who knew
him and he left an indelible mark On them. He Will be greatly
missed by his family and friends, but his laughter Will forever
fill our hearts With joy. He had a Wisdom and philosophy On life
that guided him and Others through the turbulent times. His
family Will draw Upon his Strength and courage for the rest of
their lives. Mr. Kelly could not serve in the military, but had
Unwavering patriotism and Support for this Country and the
military men and women Who protect our freedoms. He loved
animals Of all kinds, and Was a member of the Humane Society and
the World Wildlife Fund.
He is Survived by his Wife Marilyn Kelly, of the home, daughter
Conni Allen, Of Oklahoma City, Son Dr. Mark Kelly of Laurel,
Mississippi, brother Cecil Kelly and Wife Pat Of Panama City,
FL, Sister Jean Caldwell and husband Norman Of Sapulpa, OK,
Sister in-law Opal Kelly of Sapulpa, brother-in-law Jim
Stansbury and Wife Sherry Of Colorado Springs, and five
granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his daughter April Rene McKeehen,
brother Lawrence Kelly, Sister and brother-in-law Zedna and Leon
Foshee, and daughter-in-law Barbara Kelly. We Wish to thank Dr.
Michael Bowen, his nurses, Diane and Lisa, and the Other
physicians, nurses, and Staff at Cancer Care Associates, St.
Anthony Hospital, and Excel Hospice for their Care and
Compassion. Services are Thursday March 27, 2003 G 2:00 PM at
the South Colonial Chapel. Following processional he will be
laid to rest at Resthaven Memory Gardens. VONDEL L. SMITH & SON
