Monte L. Tanton, 49, of 1127 E. Moman died Tuesday at Sallisaw
Hospital, Sallisaw, Oklahoma, after an apparent heart attack.
Services are scheduled for 10 am Friday at Smith Funeral Chapel
with the Rev. Fred Brown officiating.
Burial will be in Green
Hills Memorial Gardens.
The casket will be closed at the service, but Mr. Tanton’s body
will lie in state until 9 am Friday. Mr. Tanton was born July
10, 1939, in Sapulpa and had lived here all his life.
He served in the Navy from 1958 to 1961 and was employed at
Hasco Manufacturing. Mr. Tanton was a member of Christ Church in
Tulsa.
He married Phyllis Carroll in Sapulpa 27 years ago.
Survivors include wife Phyllis
Tanton; grandmother Mae Claudine of Stockton, California;
son Michael Leon Tanton, at home; daughter Kellie DiAnn Henshaw
of Scott, Arkansas; brothers Joe Pat Tanton of Sapulpa and Danny
Tanton of Sand Springs; and one grandson.
