BENJAMIN ANDREW WINFREY
SAPULPA - Funeral for Benjamin Andrew Winfrey. 85. who died
Thursday at his home in Stella. Mo.. where he had lived the past
few years. was Monday in the Stella Baptist. church. Burial will
be in El Reno at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The body will lie in state at
the Benson funeral home there from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Wednesday.
Born in Polk county, Ark.. Winfrey was an early day homesteader
in Beaver county. He married Mamie Darr Love in 1898 and the
couple lived in the Panhandle until 1912 when they moved to
Canadian county. He owned land there and was a cattle raiser and
farmer.
The Winfreys moved to Oklahoma City in 1932 where they lived 10
years before returning to Arkansas. They have lived the past
several years in Stella
Survivors include his wife, six daughters, Mrs. Carl Limmon,
Mrs. D. C. Donald and Mrs. Sally Allen, all of Long Beach; Mrs.
A. L. Lacey. Detroit; Mrs. Joe Henry Howarton. El Reno. and Mrs.
Guiles Dawson, Seminole: three sons, Loy and Owen C., both of
Long Beach. and Carl Wayne. of
the home; ten grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchi1dren.
