Sources to help you find marriage and
divorce information.
"Creek County is unique in many ways:
First, early Federal Court House marriage
records, beginning in 1902, were sent at statehood, to the Muskogee County Court
House [address].
Second, in 1922, because of the large amount
of Indian Oil Lease litigation, TWO other Courts of Record were
established by the State Legislature.
These Courts of Record are at Bristow
and Drumright, and are still in operation. (Aug 2004) They have Marriage
Records, which are not in the main Creek County Court House (at Sapulpa). No
effort has been made to co-ordinate them. So, if Sapulpa tells you they have no
listing, try the two other locations."
