Talbot Library is a working library that specializes in Cherokee Territory , Northeastern Oklahoma with a large collection on Delaware County, and Northwestern Arkansas research information and materials.

The museum contains historical artifacts, ranging from arrowhead collections to Old Cherokee maps, letters, antique dishes, a spinning wheel, antique school items, kitchen items, and military artifacts. A display of prominent men of the Colcord area such as Dr. Linam and his medical equipment; also Charles F. Colcord, for whom the town is named and who was an early day Oklahoma Marshall and oilman. 

The grounds include a Blacksmith shop, a Post Office building containing the original Row-Colcord Post Office boxes and the Adair Building, containing large farm machinery. 

The facility is also available for meetings, etc. The library also publishes two quarterlies: "Talbot Library and Museum Genealogy" and "Goingsnake Messenger".
