OBITUARY
Minnie Gertrude Beckwith, daughter of Samuel and Nina Castle, was born at Neosha Rapids, Kansas, on November 3, 1883 and departed this life while in Roger Mills Memorial Hospital, at Cheyenne, Oklahoma on February 6, 1974. She was 90 years, 3 months, and 3 days of age.

After her marriage to Rollin T. Beckwith the couple established their home in Topeka, Kansas for a while, before moving to Satanta, Kansas, in 1905. They later moved to Woodson County, Kansas, then to Leedey where they established a farm Southeast of Leedey. They moved from Leedey to Gentry, Arkansas where Mr. Beckwith passed away in 1944. After his death, Mrs. Beckwith returned to Leedey, where she had kept her home until approximately 3 1/2 years ago. At that time she established her home with Mrs. Leona Wilson at Crawford, Oklahoma.

At an early age Mrs. Beckwith was baptized and became a member of the First Baptist Church. Throughout her lifetime she remained active and interested in her church and such activities as raising flowers and gardening. One of her greatest joys was fishing and she especially was thrilled when one of her sons would come to visit and they would go fishing together.

Mr. and Mrs. Beckwith were the parents of 6 children, three sons Theodore, Sammy and Glenn and one daughter Eunice B. Moore preceded Mrs. Beckwith in death. Surviving are her sons, Russell of Borger, Texas, Clifford of Hillister, Texas. Other survivors include four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, a number of nieces and nephews, other dear and beloved relatives and friends.

Services were held Saturday February 9, 1974 at the First Baptist Church of Leedey, Oklahoma. Rev. James Beckoff officiated at the services. Interment followed in the New Herman Cemetery of Leedey. Services were arranged and conducted by the Shaw Funeral Home of Leedey, Oklahoma.
