OBITUARY
Catherine Huffman (to all her friends just "Katie"), daughter of Fred and Mary Huffman was born in Germany on October 11, 1877. She came with her parents to America at the age of 14 and settled in Okeene, Oklahoma.
In the year 1897 she was united in marriage to Samuel Byron DeGraw of Hennessey, Oklahoma. Later they moved to a farm near Canton. Seven children were born to this union. In 1910 the family moved to Dewey County near Seiling, Oklahoma, then later to Taloga. Mr. DeGraw passed away December 22, 1928. The deceased was then married to Walter Romine of Taloga in 1934. Mr. Romine passed away March 14, 1946.
Preceding their mother in death were four sons, Bert, Lee, Ruben and Otis; also 3 grandchildren and 7 brothers also preceded her in death.
Those who survive include 3 children, Mrs. Iva Potuznik of Alva, (OK); Viola Hubbard of Parks, Arizona; and Melvin DeGraw of Pierce City, Missouri; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 4 brothers, Pete, Abe, Andrew and John Huffman; 5 sisters, Mary Gody, Maggie Meyer, Martha Weiderman, Hannah Labuach and Racheal Reddin, and other relatives and many many friends. She was a member of the Taloga Assembly of God Church and was one of the happiest elderly ladies I have ever known, always scattering sunshine to all her neighbors and friends.
