Page 1. Mrs. Laura Edwards, wife of John Edwards formerly of this place died at Longdale last Sunday.

Mrs. Edwards was taken sick with inflammation of the bowels on Friday of last week and rapidly became worse in spite of all that could be done for her.

The news of her sudden death comes as a terrible blow to her relatives and a large number of friends here and in Day county.

An effort was made to reach her parents by telephone but without effect, as the line was out of order. Her husband and her brother, Mr. Gene Smith were at her bedside when she died.

The funeral took place at Longdale Monday.

The Leader extends expressions of the most sincere sympathy to the sorrowing family and relatives in this, the hour of their sad loss and affliction.
