OLD SETTLER PASSES AWAY
Death claimed another old old settler last Saturday night, A. H. Johnston. He with his family moved here when Taloga first started and he spent the most of his time here, except short periods during which he resided at other points.
He had been in bad health for some time and while his death was no surprise, yet it was with regret that we heard of it.
He was old Union soldier and passed thru the trials that followed that great conflict.
He followed the Union flag through the Civil war and when the end came it was placed at the head of the procession that followed him to his grave.
Funeral services were held at the Baptist church after which the remains were laid to rest in the Taloga cemetery.
The bereaved have the sympathy of the entire community in this their hour of sorrow.
