Mary Mauldin, nee Counts, was born October 23, 1856 in Calhoun County. Mississippi. She was married to G. W. Mauldin at the age of 18 years. To this union were born 4 children, two boys and two girls, Henry & Rufe Mauldin, Mrs. Ida Ratliff and Mrs. Maggie Swank, all of whom are living except Mrs. Swank who passed away Nov. 1924.
The deceased moved with her famiy to Texas in 1883 and lived there until 1900, when she moved to Oklahoma.
She became a christian in early life and joined the Methodist church in which she has lived a devoted christian life. She leaves a husband, three children, 28 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, two brothers, two sisters besides a host of friends to mourn her death.
Mrs. Mauldin passed from this life to a better land June 8, 1926 at the age of 70 years, 7 months, and 20 days.
The out of town relatives present were her sister, Mrs. Gay and family of near Walters, Okla.
