Corene Seal 1940-2009CORENE SEAL was born November 1, 1940 at Taloga, Oklahoma, second of three daughters born to Chester and Virgie (Eck) Shively.  She departed this life on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at the Seiling Municipal Hospital at the age of 68 years.

      Corene was raised at Taloga where she attended all twelve years of school and she graduated with the class of 1958.  She was united in marriage to George Seal, July 13, 1958 at the Taloga Christian Church.  They made their first home just west of Seiling and in the early 1960s they moved southwest of Seiling where they have continued to make their home and raise their four children: Greg, Teresa, Brenda and Annette.

      Corene was very active in both Seiling and Taloga where she worked several jobs including the Shamrock Caf, Jaquith Gifts and T. J. Rubles Law Office to name a few.  In 1994, she was appointed as the tag agent in Taloga, a position she held at the time of her sudden passing.  She served as secretary-treasurer for the Taloga Senior Citizens, treasurer of the Dewey County Jailhouse Museum and she was a member of the Taloga Christian Church.  She enjoyed doing genealogy research, cooking, gardening, working with flowers and playing cards and was active in the Just for Fun Pitch Club.

      She is survived by her husband, George Seal of the home near Seiling; one son: Greg Seal and wife Pam of Taloga; three daughters: Teresa Gould and husband Ronnie of Chester, Brenda Yates of Taloga and Annette Hendrix and husband Eddie of Taloga; an adopted son: Danny Geo Seal of the home; eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; two sisters: Amelia Fisher and husband Wayne of Hayward, CA and Charity Ward and husband Jerry of Woodward.

She is also survived by numerous other relatives and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson: Geo Joe Yates.

      The funeral service was held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the Taloga Christian Church with Pastor Allan Patterson, officiating.  Interment was in the Mound Cemetery under the direction of the Redinger Funeral Home in Seiling.  Memorials can be made to the Dewey County Jailhouse Museum with the funeral home serving as custodian of the funds.
