Drucilla Mary Ward, daughter of George A. and Maggie D. Gault, was born March 31, 1903 at Leedey, Oklahoma and passed from this life June 5, 1975 at the Elk City Community Hospital, Elk City, Oklahoma. Mrs. Ward was 72 years 2 months and 4 days of age.
Drucilla lived in and around Leedey most of her life. She attended the Sunshine Country School from 1909 to 1918.
On Decembe 23, 1925 she was united in marriage to Fines M. Ward at Sayre, Oklahoma. To this union three children were born, Louvine, Clyde, and Allen. Mrs. Ward spent most of her life in Oklahoma except for a time in California. She was a very dear and loving person, caring for the duties of the home and the needs of her family.
At an early age Drucilla was baptized and had a constant relationship with her Saviour.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister, Ola Martha Greaham, 1 grandson Clifford Ward, and beloved husband Fines in 1962. Those remaining to cherish her memory include 1 daughter Louvine Wilson of Seneca, Okla., 2 sons Allen and Clyde Ward both of Watts, Oklahoma, 2 brothers Mike Gault of Cheyenne and Allen Gault of Woodward, 1 sister Georgia Chapman of Enid, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, several nieces nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ward were held Sunday, June 8, 1975 at 2:30 p.m. in the Leedey First United Methodist Church. Officiating ministers were Glenn Gearreld and Jim Ellis. Interment followed in the Evergreen Cemetery of Leedey. Arrangements by the Shaw Funeral Home of Leedey.
