Joe Alexander in 1944. Joe had moved to Enid in the late 1930s. He and Marjorie Meiries met at the State Hospital while both working there and later married. He enlisted in the US Army in Enid. Submitted by Blake Blankenship.

Marjorie Meiries and Mrs.Kemper 1938 State Hospital in Enid,Oklahoma. Submitted by Blake Blankenship.




Henry Meiries (1864-2938) and Kathryn Semon Meiries (1872-1967) were both born and raised in Cass County, Illinois. When the Cherokee Strip opened for settlement, Henry and family all became citizens of Enid where they remained until his passing in 1938. Both Henry and Kathryn are interred at Enid Memorial Cemetery. Submitted by Blake Blankenship.



Marjorie Meiries worked at the University Hospital in Enid for over 9 years. She would later marry Joe Alexander of Ravia, Oklahoma. When Joe returned home from WWII, Joe and Marjorie moved to Los Alamos, New Mexico. Submitted by Blake Blankenship.
