OBITUARY: UNKNOWN DATE AND PUBLISHER: SEPTEMBER 1996:
PUBLISHED IN LOCAL PAPER
FRANKLIN DALE SIMMONS
Services for Franklin Dale Simmons, age 63, of Allen, Okla; will be held
Saturday,
September 28, 1996 at 2 p.m. in the Pickard Funeral Home Chapel in Stratford,
with Rev. Carol Shivers officiating.
Interment will be in the McGee Cemetery under the direction of Pickard Funeral Home.
Franklin Dale Simmons was born March 4, 1933 in Stratford to William
Earl
and Mattie Brown Simmons. He died Tuesday, September 24, 1996 southeast of Ada.
Mr. Simmons lived his high school years in Stratford, and then lived in Washington State
for 25 years. He moved back to Allen three years ago. He was a four year veteran of the
U.S.Navy, and worked as an operator of D&K Concrete Products in Washington State.
On May 17, 1974, he married Kay Shuster in Puyallup, Washington.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Mr. Simmons is survived by his wife, Kay Simmons, of Allen; four daughters,
Sharon & Dan Doornink, of Yakima, Wash; Deniece & Doug Pfief, of Sumas, Wash;
Becky
and Tara Simmons, both of Vancouver, Wash; two sons, Mike and Craig Simmons, of
Vancouver, Wash; two step-sons; Mark Peru, of Ridgefield, Wash. and Matt Peru, of
Tacoma, Wash. two sisters, Evelyn Moore, of Auburn, Wash. and Edith Sheppard, of Pauls
Valley; one brother, Bob Simmons, of Ada; 15 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and
friends.
Mr. Simmons' pallbearers will be: J.D. Masters, Edgar Lee, Calvin Agee,
Curtis Baker,
Troy Baker and James Ray Butts. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Butts and Sammie Wood.
