GUTHRIE  Funeral for Sharon Burnett Crawford, 61, Guthrie, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Assembly of God Church in Fletcher, with the Rev. Scott Carper officiating.

Mrs. Crawford died Thursday, June 10, 2010, in Guthrie, following a seven-year battle with lung cancer.

She will be laid to rest next to her mother in the Fletcher Cemetery, under direction of Fletcher Funeral Home.

Sharon was born Feb. 18, 1949, in Lawton, to L. B. Burnett and Pauline Etter Burnett. Sharon lived in Lawton during her childhood and attended Lawton Public Schools. She married James Edward Brown March 15, 1969, and moved to Oklahomapolis. After her husband's death on Aug. 24, 1973, she moved to Kentucky. Sharon married Wayne Taylor Crawford on Feb. 11, 1978, and they had been happily married for the past 32 years. Sharon and Wayne moved to Oklahoma in 1981 and had lived in Guthrie for the past 25 years. Sharon was an accomplished artist. Some family members have the good fortune of owning some of her paintings. Sharon also designed the web sites of OKBits, CCOGS, Comanche and Cotton Counties, as well as her Aunt Margie's and her own website. Sharon loved to work on restoring old and damaged photographs, and she was amazed that people would send her the originals to work on. Sharon loved her grandchildren: Kristi, Cody,Justin, Taylor, Ashley, Skylar, Van and Marggie. Her face would glow when she talked of her grandchildren. Sharon was a member of the original Etter Family Reunion Committee that organized the Etter Reunion in 1986. She would decorate the Honor Table and helped wherever she was needed.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Crawford, of the home; daughter and husband, Kimberly and John Koumbis, of Mustang; son, Jimmy Jon Brown, of Guthrie; eight grandchildren: Kristi Bahavar, of Mustang; Cody Bahavar, of Edmond; Justin Brown, of Guthrie; Skylar Koumbis, of Muskogee; Taylor Brown and Ashley Marcin, of Tennessee; Van and Marggie Crawford, of Kentucky; two sisters and five brothers: Geneva Carpenter, of Lawton; Kathy Lair, of Tulsa; Don Burnett, Stuart, Fla.; Melvin Burnett, of Cache; David Burnett, of Dallas; Glen Burnett, Crowley, Texas; and Johnny Burnett, of Elgin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Earl Golemon; her first husband, Jim Brown; and a grandson, James Edward Brown.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Cancer Society.
