Garvin County Obituaries - Margaret Ward Submitted by - Sonya Smith SONYA966@aol.com Obituary of Margaret Ward, Lindsay News, Lindsay Garvin County OK, Feb. 1985 Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 13, 1985, 1 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church, Lindsay for Margaret Bell Ward, retired Lindsay school teacher. Mrs. Ward was born June 13, 1905 near Sanger, Texas to Nathan and Pearl Harris. She attended first through 12th grade at Colbert, Oklahoma. Later she attended North Texas State University where she obtained a teaching certificate. She graduated from Central State University in Edmond. She taught school in Texas and several communities surrounding Lindsay, including Hawkins, Criner and New Hope. She also taught second grade in the Lindsay Public Schools for 13 years having retired in 1970. Mrs. Ward was a charter member of the Calvary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and worked in all other phases of the church. She is survived by one son, Pat Ward, Tulsa, one daughter, Louanne Trueblood, Edmond, two brothers, Walter Harris, Frankson TX, and Lawrence Harris of Gardena CA. Other survivors include two grandchildren, Laura Carole Ward and Lance Patrick Ward both of Edmond. two sisters-in-law, Velma lou Barnhill of Lindsay and Mable Garrett of Del City, and several cousins and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Ward died February 11, 1985 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma City, at the age of 79. She was preceded in death by her husband R. A. (Dutch) Ward. Rev Bill Gentry of Newcastle was the officiating clergyman and Rev. Alvin McConnell, First Baptist Church assisted. Pallbearers were: Don Higgins, Vic Cacy, Jimmy Ross, Doyle King, Bob Scrykels, and W.C. Thomas. Interment was in Grenn Hill Cemetery under the direction of the B. G. Boydston Funeral Home, Lindsay
