Jack Potts Killed
Jack Potts, well known here, was shot to death Saturday on the Street at Sulphur by Rube Marlowe. The trouble was over a suit Potts has brought against Marlow over the Frisco townsite. Potts lost the suit, and meeting Marlow Saturday, drew his pistol and fired at his antagonist. Marlowe returned five shots and every one of them took effect, one in the left side, one in the right side, and three in the abdomen. Potts'pistol, after the first shot, failed to fire. Marlow waived an examining trial Saturday afternoon and was admitted to bail in the sum of $1,500. Potts was a prominent real estate man and Marlow a merchant.
