various Years at Moore
Moore,as i remember it was a 2 room white frame
building with neat Playground equiptment. We had teeter totters,merry- go
-round, a huge slide and a May Pole. for anyone who does not know what this
was, it was a tall metal pole with 2 chains that had hand holds that you
manually swung yourself around on .
we had a boy and girl outhouse.
we
got our water from a barrell in the classroom. if you were fortunate you
owned a little folding cup to drink from.
our biggest thrill at school
was the yearly Christmas programs. we would get a sack with
apple,orange,candy and nuts.
We lived 4 1/2 miles east of Paoli and
to get to school we walked 1 mile north and 1 miles east. a lot of other
students had to walk farther.
i have a picture of students there in
1948-49 school year shown are ;
