Hood, born 1864 in TN, brothers were William, P. Hurley, Thomas and James.
They all came to Okla in early 1890's. Know one of them lived in Grady County.  Others in Comanche and Rogers and possibly other counties.  They were all born in TN, and they were born 1847 to 1866.  Lived in Missouri before  coming to Oklahoma.  Father and mother were James Hood and Nancy Debusk, both born Knox Co., TN..James in 1823, Nancy in 1824.

Need help with death date and place of burial for my paternal grandmother's sister, Louisa Alice (SUMMERS) TAYLOR. She was born 26 Feb 1869 in Brown Co, Ill. and was married 14 Dec 1886 to Hayden Jackson TAYLOR in Lebanon, Missouri. In 1903 they moved to Greer Co, Oklahoma around the Mangum area. They were the parents of four children: Virgil W., Earl R., Orpha and Roxie. We believe Alice (Summers) Taylor died in 1912 somewhere in Oklahoma. H.J. Taylor died 08 Apr 1956 and is buried in the masonic Cemetery at Hydro, OK. In his obit it mentions him living at Mangum, Mustang and Tuttle before moving to Hydro. Beth Keelin 12 Dec 1997 My grandfather, Charles William JOHNSON b. 6/27/1873 in Iowa, worked for the railroad in Chickasha during the late 1800's or early 1900's. He married Emma PINKSTON b. 5/17/1870 or 71 in Waverly, Alabama. They had five children, Andrew Preston, Sara, Merle, Graham Etheridge, and Charles Pinkston, though I'm not sure how many were born when he worked for the railroad. They later moved to Yoakum, DeWitt Co., Texas, where some of there children were born. Then moved to Harlingen, Cameron Co., Texas. Any information on any of these people would be appreciated.

WARREN-CARR-MALONE I am researching Henry malone who died in Grady co in ca. 1935, Joe and Laura Warren(d. 1961) and their two daughters Ruby and Jessie Warren Carr. All are supposed to be buried in the Rush Springs Cemetery. I am looking for birth and death dates from their tombstones. Laura's mother Mary Elizabeth Boyd Malone(1853-1943) is buried there also. My greatgrandmother Lear Vesta STRICKLAND, was born Oct. 13, 1882 in Wiggs, Garland Co., Ar., She married a man by the name of John SCOTT, in Wiggs, Garland Co., Ark on Aug. 30, 1903. Their children were William Earl SCOTT b. Aug 16, 1906, Ethel Leona SCOTT b. July 8, 1904 and Janie Lily Bell SCOTT. B. May 13, 1909 all were born in Ar. Lear had 2 brothers name George and Early Strickland and 2 sisters named Roxy and Lizzy or Elizabeth Strickland. I have no information about the girls. Everyone moved to Okla, unk dates. Children of George STRICKLAND were Lester STRICKLAND, Luther STRICKLAND ( Lester and Luther were twins), Velma STRICKLAND and Fanny Mae STRICKLAND. George married a woman named Vi. Early STRICKLAND married a woman named Myrtle, no children information. Lear died on Feb. 18, 1929, and I have been told that she died in Chickasha, but I know she is buried in Foster, Ok, Garvin Co. I do believe that she did live in Chickasha. John SCOTT' mom was a Becky SCOTT, maiden name UNK, her husband was a John SCOTT. I have reason Becky SCOTT lived and died in Chickasha, unk dates. Janie Lily Bell SCOTT married a man named Charlie Theodore PITTMAN. They got married in Sulphur, Ok, on Dec. 14, 1929, but at the time of marriage that listed their address as Lindsey. Charlie PITTMAN died in Chickasha, but is suppose to be buried somewhere else, I do not know where. Charlie had a brother named Calvin or Cal PITTMAN. He also lived and died in Chickasha, probably died in 1944. Eagerly awaiting lost aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She supposedly married there, and owned or worked in a boarding house/hotel in the area. Ross supposedly visited her on occasion. I am doing family history on the Carter and Eggleston families who came into Chickasha during the land rush from Texas. They were black cowboys and had pushed cattle on the Chisholm trail. Robert EGGLESTON was born a slave in 1822 in Amelia County, Va. the son of a plantation owner and a slave woman. He and his wife escaped slavery in the late 1840s to early 1850s from Ms. to Tx. His son Robert EGGLESTON Jr. married Elizabeth CARTER sometime in the 1890's. Robert SR. died 1910, Robert JR. in Los Angeles, Ca. in 1964? and Elizabeth in Chickasha in 1977. JOSEPH b Ala.& raised in Ms. & MARY (HENLEY) b Ala. JOHNSON moved to Chickasha,Ok. pre-1900 from Tenn. with their 12 children. He applied to the Dawes Commission for his Choctaw Rights but these were denied. Information gleaned from testimony included his father's name as John & mother was Nancy (PARRISH/PARIS?) JOHNSON with her mother's name as 'Polly'PARRISH/PARIS? and the fact she was full Choctaw Indian and the family had lived in Chambers Co, Ala. pre-1840 when they are found in Scott Co, Ms. Mary died in Chickasha, Feb.14,1914 and Joseph(A Civil War Vet) died the same year in Okla. City.They are both buried in Chickasha, tho their tombstones were removed in a scheme to sell the 'plots' in that cemetery more than once. I'd like any information regarding this family, especially about their daughter Etta Mary who married a 'Doc/Dock' HOWELL @1901.Their daughter, Leta Mona HOWELL is my grandmother. They were soon div. & Etta married Wm.SARTIN and had a son in 1907/1908. Joseph & Mary's other children included; John, Wiley, Allen, Norman, Talmedge 'Buddy', William, Annie(Seeds & Blankenbeckler), Maude(Long), Etta(Howell/Sartin), and some others I can't remember at present. ROBERT DRISKELL and OCIE PHILLIPS were married Oct. 25, 1914 in Decatur, TX. and moved to Alex, OK. in 1916.. I believe he worked for the Alex city water dept. and retired from it in 1950.. ROBERT DRISKELL was born Oct.31, 1890 in GA. (Have not been able to verify this) and died Nov. 30, 1968 and OCIE was born April 14, 1898 in TX. and died Sept. 29, 1970.. Both ROBERT and OCIE are buried in Rosehill Cemetery in Grady County.. I need to know who ROBERT DRISKELL'S parents were and where they came from.. Also need any info I can get on OCIE EDITH PHILLIPS family.

Robert Alexander Fri Jan 31 07:57:29 1997 I am trying to find info on William M. CLARK. He was born Nov. 29, 1876, possibly in Wise Co. Tx. I think he had a brother named Jack. In 1910 they were living in Maysville and then Lindsay. I also believe that he was in Grady Co. William died Mar. 30, 1929. He is buried at Erin Springs Cem. If you have any info on William or Jack please contact me to exchange info.
