Lamar Cemetery

Hughes County, Oklahoma

    Recording of the Lamar Cemetery, going East of Horns Corner (Intersection of Highways 75 And 270) take Highway 84, go 7.4 miles to the east end of the town of Lamar. Turn north .6 of a mile to cemetery marker on west side of the highway. 

    Lamar cemetery is shaped in a triangle form with the point on the south end and running north Along the section line bordering the west side. Thence East along the North end to the east side Which is bordered by the roadbed of the "Katie" railroad which is no longer in service. Thence,to the point at south side.

    This cemetery has been canvassed and recorded by Sue Robinson Neill and Olen Neill. Lamar is the Robinson's home town so if anyone has any questions about these graves or any corrections , you May email us at drifter@okplus.com and we will be glad to help any way we can. We completed this project September 18, 1999.

    The Cemetery is made up of 10 ac of land that was acquired by the city of Lamar and lots were sold Until the purchase price was retired, then the community continued to bury its dead without cost. This list of  graves is accompanied by a diagram of the cemetery.
