Addington West Side 1
The young shopkeeper is Carnes
Phipps.
Date on this picture is probably December of 1913 because
the poster on
the cafe window for "The Thief" says Mon Jan.
5.
Possible dates 1903, 1914, 1920, 1925 and 1931.
Carnes was born April 29, 1894.
Things of interest in the
picture:
1.Freight on the ground behind the team is addressed
Waurika
2. The awning is about to fall. See how much it is
leaning.
3. Faded sign on storefront - Can not read the top line,
2nd = Wholesale - Retail,
3rd = Flour Feed Grain
4. Love the cowboy (in duster) and the business man
talking in
front of the barber shop.

Addington East Side
Probably same day as Addington
west side.
The poster for "The Thief"
with a different picture but same date is visible.
The upper floor of the Harbison Grocery was the telephone
office.
Notice the lines in all direction.
Also look closer at the door. Lots of watchers from
inside the store.
