Ringling, accompanied by MISS MAGGIE BACHOFER and G. B.

MISS ZELMA TUCK, 18, and R. B. GIBSON, 24, both of
Wilson, accompanied by T. J. SULLIVAN And J. R. STEPP as
witnesses. Mr. Gibson is employed with the Oklahoma
Pipeline Co.
MISS MILLIE BESHEARS, 21, and O. B. MCKAY, both of

Alumni vs. Ringling High School
The alumni of the Ringling High School played a close
game of basketball Monday night with the R. H. S. team.
The score was 32 to 31. The star players for the alumni
team were: VICTOR WALLACE, TOM WALLACE, ERBY WHITE,
ROBERT COTTON, WYMAN HENRY, CLAUDE MCCRORY, JOE HENRY.

Mr and Mrs. LEE DORSETT welcome a fine girl to their home
Dec. 11, 1927 and named her Martha Jo.
Born to Mr and Mrs. GEORGE JACKSON a baby girl Dec. 14,
1927 and named her GENEVA LOUISE.
Mr. And Mrs. DOSS BRUNER, a girl, on Dec. 7, 1927 and
named her DOROTHY SEVELLE.
Mr and Mrs. WILLIAM WALKER were made happy on Dec. 12,
1927 by the arrival of a baby boy, EDWARD CORT.

Christmas Marriages Not Reported
MISS OPAL KISSINGER and JIMMIE WIMBISH were united on
Dec. 28 in Wilson; both are from Ringling.
MISS LULA NOLEN and KENNETH ADAMS were united Dec. 31 in
Ringling. He is employed with the oil storage tank
construction company at this place.
NISS NEVADA TIPPS, 18, and ERNEST VINCENT, 21, both of
Zaneis were united Dec. 27 before Judge Wade. MISS GUSSIE
ROWE and ERNEST GREISSOM, both of Zaneis, were witnesses.
OLLIE PHILLIPS
OLLIE PHILLIPS died Dec. 30, 1927. Funeral services were
held Sunday with Rev. Longino; he was buried in the
Oddfellow cemetery beside his father G. W. PHILLIPS. He
leaves his mother, one sister and three brothers.
United in Marriage
MISS MAURINE CLIFTON and D.K. SPRADLING were united Dec.
28 at the home of her parents, Mr and Mrs. I. B.

COPELAND-SAMPLE
MISS VELA MAE SAMPLE of Ringling, who has been teaching
near Marietta, and ERNEST COPELAND of Marietta were
married Christmas Eve in Gainesville, Texas. He is a
traveling saleesman.
December 19, 1928
G. W. THOMPSON
ELDER G. W. THOMPSON, a well known minister in the Church
of Christ, died at the family home near Healdton early
Sunday morning, at the age of 77 years. Elder Thompson
has been in the ministry for over 40 years, and was loved
by all who knew him, as was evidenced by the large crowd
of friends and acquaintances at the funeral services at
Reck on Sunday afternoon, led by Elder G. W. PHILLIPS of
Ardmore. The remains were laid to rest in the Reck
cemetery beside the graves of loved ones who had preceded
him, a large number of friends attended from Cornish and
Ringling. Many mourn the passage of this grand old
gentleman, a pioneer of the Christian religion in this
new country.
OTT REED
OTT REED, the son of Mr and Mrs. JOHN REED, farmers near
Grady, died at the Hardy sanitarium at Ardmore, Jan. 11,
1928, as the result of a car wreck about 8 miles west of
Ringling Tuesday night. Mr. Reed was born near Grady on
Jan. 8, 1896 and always lived in that section of country.
He and his father were on their return home from Ringling
and were driving together in a Ford roadster, when it was
overturned by striking the end of a culvert and pinned
them underneath it. The sons spine was dislocated,
causing his death the following night. The remains were
laid to rest in the Grady cemetery on Friday, in the
presence of a large number of sympathizing friends and
neighbors. AUNT CASSIE BROWN delivered a very fitting
funeral discourse at the family home and again at the
grave. The father and mother of the deceased, six
brothers and one sister are left to mourn this untimely
death. The Eagle joins the hundreds of friends and
neighbors in sympathy and condolences for the sorrowing
family.
JOHN DILLON
Uncle JOHN DILLON died at his home near Loco on Jan. 11,
1928, following a lingering illness of long standing and
nearly nine weeks bedfast. Mr. Dillon was born in
Missouri June 8, 1857 and had past his three score and
ten years at the time of his death. He was a pioneer
citizen of this country, having lived in this section for
many years. His body was laid to rest in the Oddfellows
cemetery near Ringling on Friday, Jan. 13, following
appropriate funeral services by Evangelist T. F. MORRIS.
His wife, three sons and nine daughters and a host of
other relatives are left to mourn this venerable
fathers departure and with all the friends and
acquaintances of the deceased, the Eagle joins in
sympathy and condolences for the grief stricken family.
JOHN PRYOR
JOHN PRYOR, a resident of Wirt, died in Hot Springs,
Arkansas on Jan. 10,where he had been for several months
in an effort to regain his failing health, and the
remains were returned to Ardmore on Thursday following
for funeral services and interment in the Rose Hill
cemetery, to sleep beside the graves of other relatives
buried there. This death leaves a worthy family, widow
and five children to mourn his going.

UNCLE JAKE MEEK and MRS. HENCE MEEK of Healdton were
Ringling callers Saturday and had with them MR. ENOCH
MEEK, an aged cousin of UNCLE JAKEs who makes his
home in Benton County, Arkansas, where he has been since
1861.

Born to Mr and Mrs. CLAY REED in East Ringling on Jan. 9,
1928, a fine 11 pound boy.
January 26, 1928
PERNIE DOSSEY
PERNIE DOSSEY, the little daughter of Dr and Mrs. W. J.
DOSSEY, died at the Von Keller hospital in Ardmore
Saturday evening, January 21, where she had been taken
earlier for possible relief form an abscess on her right
lung, following pneumonia. An operation was attempted,
but without success, she expired on the operating table.
Pernie was born June 29, 1916. She was a most excellent
little girl, modest and well behaved
. Funeral
services were held at the family home on Sunday
afternoon, attended by a large crowd of sympathizing
friends and neighbors. All the members of the family were
present except COMER DOSSEY, who was in Arizona. The
remains were taken to Ryan for interment in charge of
Collier Brothers. The Eagle unites with the community, in
tenderest sympathy and condolence for the grief stricken
family and all the relatives in this hour of sorrow.
ESTELLE NOLEN
ESTELLE NOLEN, the little 3 year old daughter of Mr and
Mrs. OTIS NOLEN, departed this life at the family home at
Dixie, on Jan. 14, after several days of severe illness
from pneumonia.
The remains were laid to rest in
the Dixie cemetery, after funeral services led by Rev.
CUMBIE. A large crowd was in attendance, and all deeply
sympathize with the family and relatives in this sad hour
of grief and sorrow.
February 2, 1928
Marriages before Judge Wade
MISS WILLIS MAE WHITTTINGTON, 17 and FINIS ALLEN, 29,
were united Jan.25, 1928, witnessed by MISS OLA
WHITTINGTON and RUBY GLENN.
MISS SUSIE HAMMONS, 16, and AUBREY DAVIS, 21, all of
Ringling, were united on Jan. 28, witnessed by JOE KING
and T. J. SULLIVAN.
MISS ANNIE MARTIN, 18, and ERNEST CHOATE, 21, were united
Feb. 1, witnessed by FAY THURMAN and MYRTLE BRAMBLETT.
February 16, 1928
WALTER MORRIS
WALTER MORRIS, brother of J. H. MORRIS and E.C. MORRIS,
of Ringling died suddenly at his home in Bowie, Texas on
Friday, February 10. Heart failure was assigned as the
cause of his passing. The two brothers and C. B. MORRIS
of this city attended the burial services at Bowie
Saturday. He left a widow and several relatives to mourn
his departure, and this paper joins the host of friends
and acquaintances in this section, in expression of
sympathy for them all in this hour of sorrow.
BERTHA WOOTEN
Miss BERTHA WOOTEN, the 16 year old daughter of Mr and
Mrs. C. M. WOOTEN, died at the Von Keller sanitarium on
Thursday night, Feb. 9 where she was taken some weeks ago
for an operation. She died under a second operation
Thursday night. Funeral services were held at the home in
Ringling Friday afternoon, attended by Evangelist T. F.
MORRIS, attended by a good crowd of friends and
acquaintances, the remains were laid to rest in the Grady
cemetery near Grady.
February 23, 1928
L. H. CONNER
L.H. CONNER, the aged father of Mrs. NORA J. ROBBERSON,
died at the family home near Altus early Wednesday
morning, at the age of 83 years. Mr. Conner had been in
failing health for a long time
Three daughters,
Mrs. ROBBERSON, Mrs. MARY KNOX, and Mrs. MARTHA TAYLOR
and two sons, MATTHEW CONNER and WILLIE CONNER, and Mrs.
Conner, the widow, are members of the immediate family
thus left to mourn the death of this venerable and highly
respected gentleman of the old type.
March 1, 1928
J. S. DREW
J. S. DREW, died at his home near Atlee on Feb. 23, 1928,
aged 70 years, 4 months, 12 day. Mr. Drew had been in
failing health for a long time
The remains were
laid to rest in the Cornish cemetery, with appropriate
services led by Evangelist W. J. SMITH. The Eagle joins
in sympathy for the bereaved family.
March 8, 1928
Pioneer Farmer Died
ACIE JEFFERSON HAWKINS died at the family home in the
Atlee community, March 3, 1928 at the age of 52 years, 7
day. Mr. Hawking was born in Ripley County, Missouri
February 25, 1876. He was buried in the Atlee cemetery.
Funeral service was conducted by Evangelist W. J. SMITH.
Healdton Herald Jumps to Seven Column Paper
The Healdton Herald, published by the HEDGES brothers,
has increased t a seven column paper. This is a real
improvement for the paper and the editors are to be
congratulated on this move.
Healdton I. O. O. F. Lodge to Occupy New Building
I.O.O.F. Lodge of Healdton will occupy a new home in
about 30 days. The building is being constructed at a
cost of $25,000. This will be one of the finest Odd
Fellow halls in this section of the state and the
Ringling Odd Fellows are very glad to compliment the
Healdton lodge in its good fortune.
FARRIS Twins Die
Twin babies of Mr and Mrs VELMER FARRIS, who reside at
the Last Chance community, were buried at the Atlee
cemetery last Saturday afternoon. Evangelist W. J. A.
SMITH conducted the funeral services.
May 3, 1928
DAVID KYLE
DAVID KYLE, known in Waurika as Bob Kyle, died Wednesday
of last week at his home in Waurika at the end of a few
days illness which had not been considered serious.
.. Interment was made at the Waurika cemetery Thursday
afternoon. Deceased had lived in Waurika for the past ten
years but had been very reticent about his family
affairs, merely stating he had not heard from any family
members of many years. He left his worldly goods to a son
of Mr and Mrs. G. L. TIDWELL, who had assisted in looking
after Mr. Kyle.
