The Ringling Eagle ********************************* The Ringling Eagle Some Items A Pioneer Called Home God in His infinite wisdom saw fit to call home the soul of an Oklahoma pioneer in the person of Mr. A. L.HENRY of Loco last Monday morning. Mr. Henry was a native of Tennessee, having been born there in 1859 which makes his age at death 78 years. He was the father of nine children of whom five and his faithful companion survive him. He and his wife have been active workers in the Baptist Church of Loco for a number of years where he was known and loved by every one. His funeral services were conducted by his dearly beloved brother REV. JESS WARD and in the same church that had been so dear to him during life. To the loved ones whose hearts are so grieved over their loss we extend our sympathy and beg of them to look to the Giver of all good who in His wisdom knows how and when to call His children home, and my each of you be submissive to His will. SAMUEL HOUSTON WALLACE SAMUEL HOUSTON WALLACE was called to the Great Beyond by the angel of death on December 26, 1928 having lived only five days beyond his 63rd birthday. He was married to Mrs. MATTIE MCDONALD, November 26, 1892, and to this union were born four boys and four girls, all of whom survive their father except one daughter, Mrs. CLAUDIA ALKIRE, who died Jan. 20, 1920. The remains were laid to rest in the Odd Fellows Cemetery December 31. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved one and may they be able to the all wise and just Father who both gives and takes life according to His will and not ours. January 17, 1929 Family Celebrates Golden Anniversary Mr and Mrs. ANDREW RAMSEY RICHARDSON who reside in the Salona community of Montague County celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary at their home January 12, 1929. Mr. Richardson is son of FERNIE MARYETTA RICHARDSON and was born in Sumpter County, Alabama in 1859. Mrs. Richardson was the daughter of JOHN and MARY PRESSWOOD and was born in Sumpter County, Alabama in 1861. Mr and Mrs. Richardson were married in Freestone County in 1879 and moved to Montague County the same year. They settled near Queens peak, then they moved to Salona community in 1890 and have lived and farmed there since that time. There were ten children born to this union, five of whom are living. They were all present at the gathering. Fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren were present. The children are: MRS. MAGGIE JACKSON of Dundee, Texas; W. A. RICHARDSON of Bowie, Texas; SAM RICHARDSON of Lamesa, Texas; F. R. RICHARDSON of Bowie, Texas; and S. A. RICHARDSON of Lamesa, Texas. Friends and relatives present were; L. D. PRESSWOOD and family; T. L. BROWN and family; L. F. BRIGANCE and family; MRS. M. A. REED; R. W. PAYNE and family; G. LYONS and family; H. A. RICHARDSON and family; A. C. ROBERTS and family; S. W. LYONS and family; H. F. FAULKENBERRY and family; JIM CLARK and J. A. ALLEN of the Mountain Home community. Dinner was served to 63 persons. JOHN BAYLOR John Baylor, age 81 years, 9 months, and 13 days, died at the home of his daughter in Ringling January 10 and was buried in the Atlee cemetery the following day. He had been an Odd Fellow for more than 40 years. The Lodge held funeral rites at the cemetery. REV. C. S. MCCLUNG conducted the burial services. Collier Bros. Undertakers were in charge of funeral arrangements. MRS. C. L. SHIPP MARTHA ROSE ANNAR SHIPP, the wife of C. L. Shipp, died at the age of 26 years, 10 months and 6 days. She had been ill about nine days with pneumonia. Mrs. Shipp was born March 8, 1902 and was the daughter of Mr and Mrs. A. J. COMBS of this city. Interment was made in the Odd Fellow cemetery Tuesday with Rev. HOCKADAY of Wilson conducting burial services. Collier Bros. Undertakers were in charge of funeral arrangements. *********************************
