Epworth League Social
On the evening of Dec. 29, 1925, the members of the
Epworth League enjoyed two or three hours of
entertainment. The first part of the evening was spent at
the theater. After seeing the picture, Exchange of
Wives," the young people returned to the WORSHAM
home and passed the remainder of the evening playing
games. Those present were: SHIRLEY WILLIAMSON, MORRIS
HAMMONS, CARMON HARRIS, VICTOR WALALCE, TOM WALLACE,
BASIL DULANEY, VOLNEY HAMM, GEORGE ROBERTS, ROBERT
COTTON, WILMA MOORE, HAZEL RICE, CECILE MOORE, VERA
WALLACE. IRNE MOORE, ELNA SULLIVAN, MARY LOU DALLAS,
VELLA ME SAMPLES, CHRISTINE WORSHAM.
New Management at GARIBALDI Restaurant
With the dawning of a new year, the Garibaldi Café
passes into new hands. MRS. S. O. THOMPSON is the new
proprietress. For eight years, MRS. THOMPSON has been
connected with the Magnolia Petroleum and the great part
of the this time, as its manager of boarding houses. She
comes from the Magnolia Camp near Healdton, but was
located for several months at Duncan. The oil fraternity
is high in their praise of Mrs. Thompson and we do not
hesitate to predict for her a fine business at Ringling.
Mr. and Mrs. WILL RACHEL are leaving for the Rio Grande
Valley where they expect to make their home in the near
future.
HOYT HARWELL returned Saturday from his holiday with
friends and relatives at Mena, Hotfield, and DeQueen,
Arkansas.
GARRETSON-BOARD
The good news reached us that HERMAN GARRETSON, former
resident of Ringling, a student of our high school some
ten years ago, grew weary of the loneliness of single
life and on Dec. 26, 1925, took unto himself a wife. MISS
RUBY LEE BOARD of Paris, Texas was Mr. Garretsons
choice and as he was located in Paris (spelled Parris in
the article) at the time. Mr. Garretson is the director
of two orchestras operating out of Paris. They are
expected to visit relatives in Ringling in the near
future.

Mr. and Mrs. O.S. DAVIS and daughter MISS MILDRED
returned Dec. 31 from their holiday with relatives at
Custer and Hydro.
Mr. and Mrs. WILLIE STIDHAM are happy over the arrival of
a fine girl in their home on January 3.
Mr. and Mrs. CHARLES GLASCO had born to them a boy on
January 2.

birth of a son in their home on January 1.

Mr. and Mrs. W. E. CLARK of Nocona, Texas returned from
visiting DR. and G. L. BALL.
J. H. GILLISPIE is among us again and may spend the
winter here.
J. P. IRBY, formerly a Ringling boy, spent part of his
holiday here.
DR. CALHOON, H. B. LONGEST, JOE SMITH of Orr, J. L.
HARPER and JUDGE SPRADLIGN made a round trip to Waurika
Monday.
Mrs. E. T. GRIFFIN was ill for a few days.
MRS. NORA HARRIS and MISS AUDRA PREWITT of Ringold, Texas
spent Sunday here.
MISS EDITH CAGLE returned to Ardmore after a weeks
vacation with home folks.
MISS LUCILLE MCCRORY, GLEN TURNER, JOE HENERY, CARMON
HARRIS, SHIRLEY WILLIAMSON, and D. K. SPRADLING, O. U.
students, returned to classes.
Mr. and Mrs. FRANK PRICE of Ardmore spent Sunday with
Ringling relatives.
F. M. MINGUS will soon have completed a beautiful farm
house for MR. N. GANN near Grady.
MRS. CHARLES ROFF and MISS INEZ ROFF returned from Leedey
where they visited with MRS. JAMES LEFTWICH and family.
W. S. GILLEY spent part of the holiday with his daughter
MRS. FRANK WILLIAMS at Sherman, Texas.
BILLINGSLEY and JONES have moved to larger quarters two
doors east of their old stand.
Mr. and Mrs. EUGENE FOLSOM welcomed a ten pound baby boy
into their home December 27, 1925.

GRAVLEY-LAIRD
MISS OPAL LAIRD, age 16, and CLAYTON GRAVLEY, age 21,
were made married January 9 by the friendly attitude of
JUDGE WADE on presentation of the paper credentials. Both
parties are well known here and at Claypool and have the
good wishes of many friends.
MCGRAW-FLETCHER
MISS RUTH FLETCHER, the efficient sales clerk at W. H.
HARRIS dry goods and shoe store, and STERLING MCGRAW,
mechanic at the Ringling Motors Co., were married January
9 before W. C. HOGAN. Both are well known here and have
the best wishes of hosts of friends.
Twin Brothers Marry Healdton Brides
JUDGE W. C. HOGAN had something out of the ordinary in
the line of marriage ceremonies Monday night. OWEN KNIGHT
and G. A. KNIGHT of Sweetwater, Texas brought before Mr.
Hogan, MISS ELSIE BENSON and MISS BERTHA KREBS, both of
Healdton, for the final words in closing the marriage
contract between the two gentlemen, who are twins, and
their brides-to-be. Mr. Hogan administered the marriage
vows in a joint ceremony and sent the happy couples away
rejoicing. We understand they have returned to Texas. We
wish them happy and useful lives.
H. C. PRYOR and family are moving to Vernon, Texas.
WILLIAM JONES of Ardmore visited his son, J. W. JONES,
and family this week.

FREEMAN-YOUREE
MISS MILDRED YOUREE and V. C. FREEMAN, both of Wirt,
appeared before Judge Hogan on January 8, 1926 and
requested the marriage ceremony. They returned to Wirt
where they will make their home.
MRS. AUDREY BEST, former telephone operator here, who has
been in Ardmore for a year of so, returned this week as
manager of this office. Her sister, MISS ALLIE GILCREASE
is now day operator.

JOE BONDS of Ryan passed through on his way to Ardmore.

holiday, had the misfortune to break his arm after
returning home.

Music Appreciation Club
The M. A. C. held its first meeting for the New Year in
the lovely home of MRS. J. H. DILLARD with MISS JACQUE
JACKSON as hostess
. A pleasant social hours
following the business session, guest of the occasion
being MRS. L. JACKSON, MISS OUIDA JACKSON and MISS
MAURINE RYAN. MRS. E. C. GARRETT and MRS. J.H. HARPER
were joint hostesses to the club on Wednesday, Jan. 18.
WILEY WILSON of Britain visited his brother WALTER WILSON
and family last week.
CLARENCE WORSHAM of Tampa, Florida has been visiting his
uncle R. E. L. WORSHAM.

R. V. TURNER who came from Nebraska to Oklahoma occupies
ones of TOM GARDNERs farms and has planned to
devote considerable time and labor to forage and feed
crops, with this intention of growing poultry and
producing dairy cream.
MISS BERNICE RICKETS of Ardmore spent the weekend with
Ringling friends.
JOHN ALLEN is with home folks after being absent a few
months.
CHARLES HOPKINS and WILLIE BURCH and families of Oklahoma
City visited with W. S. GILLEY and family from Saturday
to Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. OTTO MURPHEY and daughter BILLIE JEANE, of
Ardmore visited with the J. P. DULANEY family on January
14.
MRS. A. MATTHEWS and MRSS BERNICE RICKETS of Ardmore were
guests of the J. P. DULANEY on January 14.
S. E. FREKELL of Tonkawa, teacher at the Mountain Home
school six years ago, spent Sunday in Ringling then
continued his journey to Waurika.
MRS. J. C. SMITH now occupies the G. W. PATTY place and
will feed you anything in the short order line.
L. H. COLLIER and MISS TEXAS EARLS were married on
January 13.
MRS. J. L. LOWE underwent a successful operation at an
Ardmore hospital last week.
West Plainview Items
The enrollment at the West Plainview school numbers 20.
SHERMAN GARDNER re-entered Monday. The girls had 100%
attendance during December while the boys averaged 94%.
MRS. JONES who has been on the sick list for a month is
greatly improved.
Mr. and Mrs. W. M. MITCHEL made a business trip to
Ringling Tuesday. He made another trip to take a coop of
chickens Saturday. Mrs. Mitchell is getting rid of her
mix stock of chickens and buying Rhode Island Reds.
BOB RICHIE and MORRIS BOWEN of Foss are visiting the
Mitchells this week.
Work on TOM GARDNERs house is making rapid headway.
W. C. BURNAM and family of Claypool spent Saturday night
and Sunday at the Garrett home.
MISS WARD visited at the Reynolds house.
MARION REYNOLDS visited ELGIE MITCHELL.
The MISSES WATTS spent Saturday with their cousins ELSIE,
ESSIE and NERVIA MCQUEEN.
West Plainview Items written by RUTH GARDNER, the
teacher.
W. S. KEMP was among his former neighbors last week and
reported his plans and arrangements for producing more
dairy cream and poultry in 1926.

The Healdton Reliance appeared on Jan. 20 as a four page
weekly edited by L. B. LEWIS, a veteran newspaper man.

ALECK HAMMONS has stored in Ringling 30 tons of cotton
seed cake for his cattle this winter and spring.
ERNEST CAGLE wrote his mother, MRS. C. M. CALGE, a few
days ago from Weslaco, Texas that his health has improved
since arriving there.
J. W. DALLAS of Vernon, Texas was here a few days ago and
withdrew his daughter MARY LOU DALLAS from school here
and placed her in college at Sherman, Texas.
H. A. SHAW, Ford car salesman for the Ringling Motor Co.,
met his father REV. J. J. SHAW of Kennedale, Texas at
Ardmore last Friday.
PROFESSOR GEORGE ROBERTS said he hadnt been in jail
but he would like to see his name in print.
