James Edward Barnes, 81, of Heavener, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2003, in Poteau. He was a lifelong resident of the area, a member of the Hontubby Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by one son, Larry. Survivors include his wife, Mona of the home; one son, James Alan Barnes of Tulsa; three brothers, Horace Barnes of Rosebud, Ark., Floyce Barnes of Poteau and Herman Barnes of Heavener. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 16 at Hontubby Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Hontubby Cemetery under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener. |
