William Golden Blackwell, 91, of Moore, formerly of Talihina, passed
away Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003. He was born April 16, 1912 in Dixon, Mo.
to Delbert and Docie Della Courtright-Blackwell. He married Jessie Madge
Knight on Sept. 19, 1940. He was a mechanic until he retired. He and his
wife owned and operated Ma's and Pa's Second Hand Store for many years.
They moved to Moore in 1995. He was a loving husband, father and
grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his son, Don Blackwell; and his daughter,
Wilma Pearce.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two granddaughters and their
husbands, Kim and Randy Woods of Oklahoma City and Keitha and Ryan
Robertson of Krugerville, Texas; two grandsons and their wives, Greg and
Paula Blackwell of Houston, Texas and Bryan and Juanita Pearce of
Amarillo, Texas; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 at the Old
Talihina Cemetery with the Rev. Carrol Fitzgerald officiating, under the
direction of Talihina Funeral Home.
