Josephine Dempsey POCOLA ‹ Josephine Dempsey, 97, of Pocola died Thursday, June 19, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was the widow of John Dempsey. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Fentress Mortuary Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith. She is survived by two sons, Bobby Dempsey of Arkoma and Billy Dempsey of Van Buren; a sister, Thelma Taylor of Fort Smith; a brother, James Tucker of Fort Smith; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Benny Williams, Kent Benge, Franklin Nelke, Terry and Mike Lea and Rex Matthews. The family will visit with friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
