Lavern Fesperman, 83, of Lamar, Mo., formerly of Bokoshe, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2003. She was born June 13, 1919 at Gillham, Ark. to Floyd Stinnett and Nell Beutelschies Stinnett. She was a retired nurse from Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center at Poteau and Sparks Regional Medical Center at Fort Smith, a charter member of First United Methodist Church of Bokoshe, a graduate of Bokoshe High School, a member of the Spiro Eastern Star, the American Legion Auxiliary of Bokoshe, the Lions Club of Bokoshe and National Association of Practical Nurses. She married her husband William Laverne "Bill" Fesperman Oct. 8, 1938 at Bokoshe.

She was preceded in death by her husband Aug. 25, 1998; and one daughter, Shelba Ainsworth in 1970.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Larry Kuhn of Lamar, Mo.; three grandchildren, Sherie Cox of Spiro, Bill Ainsworth of Atlanta, Ga. and Jim Ainsworth of Booneville, Ark.; seven great-grandchildren, Brent Ainsworth, Diedria Webb Ainsworth, Chad and Nichol Cox, Jamie, Sarah and Chole Ainsworth; and one great-great-grandson, Noah Ainsworth.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 23 at First United Methodist Church at Bokoshe with the Rev. Mary Sue Sprouse officiating. Burial will follow in Old Bokoshe Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
