Gracie Gladys Foster, 92, of Spiro, passed away Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, in Spiro. She was born Jan. 21, 1911 at Kinta to John Gordon and Willie Mable (Johnson) DeVore. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Spiro. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Branch Foster; two sons, Leslie James Foster and Joe David Foster; and her mother, Mable Pearson. Survivors include two daughters, Ruby Peoples and husband Robert of Johnson City, Texas and Edith Foster of the home; one daughter-in-law, Violet Foster of Spiro; two sons, Jim Foster and wife Marchetta of Glendora, Calif. and Paul Foster of the home; one sister, Johnnie Mae Spears of Medford; eight grandchildren, Leisa Garcia, Steven Foster, Gordon Foster, David Peoples, Jeff Foster, Paul Joe Foster, Tammala Cox and Greg Peoples; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. The family will visit with friends Tuesday night, Feb. 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mallory Funeral Home in Spiro. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26 at the Spiro First Baptist Church with the Rev. Lynn Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Garland Cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro. Pallbearers will be Steven Foster, Jeff Foster, David Peoples and Greg Peoples. |
