Delbert B. Hankins, 76, of Calhoun, passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2002,
in Poteau. He was born Feb. 4, 1926 at Calhoun to George and Bertha
(Upton) Hankins. He was a cement finisher and loved to garden.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ronnie
Hankins; one brother, Ervin Hankins; and one sister, Hazel
Hankins.
Survivors include five daughters, Debbie Shackelford and husband
Dennis and Priscilla Watts and husband, all of Cameron, Connie
Blaylock and husband Earl of Shady Point, Sandra Hale and husband
Billy and Dale Darneal and husband Joe, all of Panama; three sons,
David Hankins and wife Marilyn of Spiro, Shawn Hankins and wife Kim of
Salem, Ore. and George Hankins of Panama; 25 grandchildren; and 37
great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24 at the Mallory Chapel with
the Rev. Elmer Bowden officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Point
Cemetery under the direction of the Mallory Funeral Home of
Spiro.
Pallbearers will be Brad Darneal, Jason Shackelford, Billy Jack
Hankins, Shayne Blaylock, Bee Jay Hale and Tracey Tedder.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Lee Watts, Billy Hankins, Tyler
Hankins, Michael Tedder, Casey Blaylock, Chris Darneal and Jeff
Darneal.
Military rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post
No. 4446 of Stigler.
