Vernon Alvin Jones, 85, of Howe, passed away Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, in Poteau. He was a lifelong resident of the area, a veteran of World War II, a member of the Howe First Assembly of God Church and a retired engine repairman from the KCS Railroad.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; one brother; and one grandson.

Survivors include his wife Imogene; one daughter, Anna June Reeves of Lindsay; three sons, Vernon Eugene, Clifton Dean and Claude Alvin, all of Howe; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18 at First Assembly of God Church in Howe. Burial will follow in Howe Cemetery under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
