Mattie O. McCartney, 90, of Poteau, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2003. She was born July 26, 1912 in Greenwood, Ark. She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of the Poteau area.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Lois Jean Cravines and Cleo Wilson; and one son, Theodora "Lucky" Cravines.

Survivors include two daughters, Yvonne Carpenter of Cameron and Donna Moore of Phoenix, Ariz.; three sons, Bill Cravines of Marlton, N.J., John Moore of Phoenix and Chester McCartney of Poteau; one brother, Edgar Roberts of Poteau; one sister, Bertha Smith of California; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 9 at Old Union Cemetery in Hackett, Ark. with the Rev. Jimmy D. Cook officiating, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.

Pallbearers will be Robert Dean Dewitt, Levi McCartney, Kevin McCartney, Gerald Wilson, Darrell Mirus, Paul Pitsco and Allen Patten.
