Doris May McFarland, 82, of Poteau, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2003. She was born May 14, 1921 at Fairview. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Poteau and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, David L. McFarland; one daughter, Barbara Jean Cook; her brothers, William A. and Arren Cupp; her parents, Rena and William C. Cupp; sisters, Grace Webb, Rosie McKissick, Ada Heil, Bell Self, Bess Wells and Katie Simpson.

Survivors include one son, Raymond McFarland of Sachse, Texas; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one half sister, Billie Jean Morris of Tulsa; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones; and many beloved friends.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 29 at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with the Rev. Phil McGehee officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery at Poteau under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.

Pallbearers will be John David Pratt, Frank Pratt, Travis Cook, Raymond McFarland, David McFarland and Jon Cook.

POTEAU — Doris May McFarland, 82, of Poteau died Saturday, July 26, 2003, in Poteau. She was a homemaker, member of First Baptist Church in Poteau and the widow of David L. McFarland.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with burial at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.

She is survived by a son, Raymond McFarland of Sachse, Texas; a half sister, Billie Jean Morris of Tulsa; seven grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
