Ervin Barron Meeks, 89, of Wister, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2003, in Poteau. He was born May 11, 1913 at Ardmore to David Barron and Sarah Meeks. He married Ethel Louella Bledsoe in 1932. He was a farmer and had lived in Wister for the past several years. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sons, Freddie and Estel; three grandsons, Jackie Meeks, Brian Meeks and Gary Meeks; two brothers, Melvin and Raymond Meeks; and one sister, Fay. Survivors include two sons, Clifford and Weldon Meeks; two daughters, Opal Kienitz and Linda Fouts; one sister, Willie Hendricks; 15 grandchildren, Floyd Meeks, Janice Owens, Tracy Siler, Stacy Reddin, Shelly Caldwell, Michael Fouts, Marvin Fouts, Mark Fouts, Thomas Fouts, David Fouts, Ryan Kienitz, Kelly Kienitz, Greg Meeks, Heath Meeks and Christy Meeks; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews; and a host of friends. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 14 at the Albert Cemetery with the Rev. Donald Wright officiating, under the direction of Talihina Funeral Home. |
